Trixie - HAPPY - Call the Midwife

Hello, I'm back!!

giphy (1)

HEY GUYS!! I'm back from a LONG HIATUS from LJ.
I really didn't mean to just go MIA but RL got a little crazy.

I just want to say have missed LJ and you all SO MUCH!!

I'd like to share with you guys about this years marching band season.

Well are numbers were really low this year. We had 20 kids signed up. At the beginning of summer when we did the drill.
We were disapointed that some of the kids that we had last year didn't back. The only reason they really didn't come back was we weren't going a trip.
Anyways but we thought 20 was okay.

So the night we do uniforms came and dieaster hit. One of kid moved away, another literally quit twenty minutes before a uniform night stared, and one quit becasue of football.
Of course that didn't sit really good with us as directors and for the kids that were still doing band were not feeling good with our season but we still try to stay postitive and pump them up for band camp in the a couple of days.

Band camp came and the first day was so bad. Then dieaster hit again. Out of the blue a kid that really likes marching band just says he quits and won't talk to us about why is so upset. So at this point we don't what to do. Our two drum majors really took the news like champs. My fellow directors and I were going to do whatever it to save our season!

The next day our trumpet player returned! We were happy but angry that he let his other band members down. One of drum majors that also plays trumpet offered to help with his music so he felt more condfident about playing it. So after that the rest of band camp went really well. All the kids were working hard and really doing an awesome job for just band camp.

We had a great premiere for their parents and everyone was really impressed with our small but might band.

For the first couple football games we had some little struggles but we over came them but they really stressed me out!

Then it came time for our competition! What a day that was!

First we had to go to a football game in the 80 degree temps and then we had to travel an hour to go to our competition.

We finally made it to Bradford(where the competition was at)! We hurried and got the kids some dinner so they didn't passout during the performance.

They finished getting dressed and then it was time to warm up. The band and color guard never looked and sounded so good as they warmed up. I kept telling my girls if you performed like that on the field we could win this competition. The drum majors gave speeches and they did their good luck chants and it was time for us to perform.

Then we watched a couple other bands and waited for the award time.

Award time I was so nervious. The annocnced the first caption a award, Best Music....COUDERSPORT!! All of us were so happy!!
Next Caption Award. Best Visual....COUDERSPORT!! (we got this last year too)!! All of us were so happy again!!
Next Caption Award Best General Effect...COUDERSPORT!! We went crazy!!!

That being said we got 1st PLACE we beat two other bands by almost 2 points!!

Some of are kids were crying and I even cried a little bit. What really got me was to see the kids see the trophies for the first time. They were so HAPPY!! We has directors were SO PROUD!!

This was a news clipping from one of local newspapers.

The upper picture is all of our seniors. They have been with us for 6 years. They literally like my babies or first borns. All five of them are  SO awesome in their own little ways.
I'm going to miss them SOOO MUCH!!
The lower picture is my two senior guradies and myself.(I look like a hot mess, just ignore me) These two were my first ever rookies.
It's been so a joy watching them grow in color guard and into just two amazing young ladies. So proud to be their color guard instructor/guard mom!

So that's the about my last three months. It's been quite a season it's a had a lots downs but also some really good ups.

I hope to ease back into LJ and hopefully make some icons sometime.

Have a great night my friends!
